Our Strategic Targeted Initiative Grants are special funds offered to support capital campaigns and operational requirements for service organizations across Canada. Since 2014, we have granted $1 million to two organizations in Canada.
Through the generous donation of Wise Family Foundation (formerly KRG Children’s Charity), we granted $400,000 to ISAND from 2014 to 2018 to support operation requirements. We helped build ISAND’s operation and administrative infrastructure through a number of key initiatives that included supporting mission-critical expenses such as technology, increased lease expenses, assessment tools and protocols, therapeutic program supplies and essential external professional services.
ISAND is a non-profit organization with an integrated team of developmental pediatricians, psychologists, clinicians, and therapists. The team works together with families to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people with autism and neurodevelopmental disorders.
We granted $500,000 to The Pacific Autism Family Network (PAFN) from 2015 to 2020 to support the capital requirements for their offices in Richmond, BC. Through this special funding, their office building has full occupancy and has been operational since winter of 2016.
PAFN is a centre of excellence and network of support for individuals with autism and their families in British Columbia. They bring together state of the art resources for research, information, learning, assessment, treatment and support and build capacity to address the lifespan needs of individuals with autism and related disorders.
We have granted $10,000 to the McMaster Autism Research Team (MacART), which aims to bridge the research-to-practice gap in autism. MacART is designed to foster collaboration among autism families, researchers, clinicians, educators, and policymakers. It is a partnership between McMaster Children’s Hospital, Hamilton Health Sciences, and McMaster University.
