18 year old, tenacious swimmer and Toronto Walk Ambassador
Griffin is a tenacious young man powering through his challenges. When he was just 3 months old, he was placed on many supports (OT, SLP and other therapists). After a few years, it was determined he had a triplication of Chromosome 15 that only 7 other people in the world have. At around the age of 4, Griffin was also diagnosed with Autism. At age 11, he had his first seizure. Skip ahead 6 months and Griffin was seizure free, with the help of Ketogenic diet, as well as many anti-convulsant medications. Unfortunately, 3 years ago the seizures came back.
Gratefully Griffin is part of a big family, including three siblings that love and support him, as well as an extended family of loving and supportive individuals, who have helped both him and our family throughout this journey. Help us create a kinder, more inclusive world for people like Griffin.
