What age were you diagnosed with autism and what is your current age?

I was diagnosed with Autism when I was 11 years old and I’m 16 years old.

Where are you located in Canada?

Whitehorse, Yukon.

What does it mean to you to be autistic?

It means I’m a superior being… lol sometimes it means people can be unknown to me.

What are your autism strengths?

High IQ. I have a lot of information and facts about cars and places around the world.

What are some things that are hard for you?

Writing with a pen or pencil, making decisions and talking to other people.

What role has your family played in your autism journey?

My family is supportive. They help me advocate and care about how I feel.

What advice would you give to a person, recently diagnosed with autism, wondering what the future holds for them? What are your goals and hopes for the future?

Be yourself and be proud of who you are. Don’t apologize for being yourself. Seek out supports where you live, work and play.

What five words best describe you?

Funny, smart, caring, good physical stamina and good taste in music.
