Blake is a radio host and a published author from Port Hastings, Nova Scotia. He was diagnosed with autism at the age of 6. He is now 28 years old.
What does it mean to you to be autistic?
I have it but it didn’t have me.
What are your autism strengths?
A good memory, lots of empathy sometimes too much, determined.
What are some things that are hard for you?
I get overwhelmed after a long day and I sometimes don’t feel like doing anything social afterwards.
What role has your family played in your autism journey?
They supported me since day one and stopped at nothing to ensure I got the things I needed.
What advice would you give to a person, recently diagnosed with autism, wondering what the future holds for them? What are your goals and hopes for the future?
